Katie hosts The Girls from Corona del Mar

Our book club is built on a foundation of friendship.  Every time we meet the first thing that occurs is catching up on what has been happening in everyone’s lives. It means so much that people who have moved make time to join in when they come back to Idaho.  Katie even hosted in December.  The book was The Girls from Corona del Mar by Rufi Thorpe. Thanks to Ella for the recommendation! It was a doozy of a book that made for some great conversation about what friendships can endure.

Katie showed up with a wide variety of beverage including champagne, wine, and beer.  She really knows how to host away from home. We also enjoyed a Christmas Ale from Anchor Brewing from our good friend Cora Bekker.  This beer is interesting because it has been produced every year since 1975 and the recipe is always changing slightly.  It is dark brown ale with spices such as nutmeg, star anise, and licorice with hints of chocolate. Try it next holiday season.

No time to cook or no kitchen. No problem! There is always take out.

No one was hurt taking this photo.

Now, this really happened.  Jamie felt Katie needed a friendship exercise dealing with trust.  Not really... they are just weirdoes! Loveable weirdoes!  Next book club will feature The Thin Man by Dashiell Hammett hosted by Skylar.
