2012 Bucket List: Wine and Tapas Miles Away from Spain

Some of our best memories were made sampling wine and tapas throughout Spain which is something we would recommend everyone do in their life.  If that is not on your agenda anytime soon there is a great place for wine and tapas right in Boise, Idaho. The Basque Market is located on the Basque block in downtown. Select a bottle of wine from their selection and they will cork it for you for a small fee. The outdoor seating is great for people watching. They offer a wide variety of authentic tapas and do not skip the rice pudding or flan for desert. Be prepared to purchase a few bottles of wine to take home also.  It just seems like the right thing to do!

FCM Book Club: Fifty Shades of Blushing...

Women around the world are reading Fifty Shades of Grey so we felt like we needed to find out what the fuss was all about! The gathering was hosted by Abbie and featured plenty of food, drink and steamy conversation.

Basil Fizz

White wines

The cocktail for the evening was a Basil Fizz.  Abbie's own recipe of vodka, basil infused simple syrup and sparkling mineral water topped off with edible sweet peas. A variety of white wines and champagnes were also served.

The appetizers and cocktails were followed by a dinner of herbed Copper River salmon and spring greens with green goddess dressing.



Very Vanilla

Desert was created by Skylar and featured vanilla cupcakes topped with vanilla bean frosting and silver balls. 

  

Love or hate it the book has people talking including mothers, daughters, friends and sisters. We are so sorry to be losing Amanda Balderrama to Nevada but wish her and her family the best of luck! Next up Swamplandia! hosted by Ella Wilkerson.
